Wellington Ska band Battle-Ska Galactica are preparing for the election with the release of the single "Wake Up NZ". The track is a message to all New Zealanders. It is the first single released from their new album to released in Junel 2012.

With an important election looming very near this song urges New Zealanders of all political persuasions to get down to the polling booth and kick the National Party out of Office.

While the alternatives may not be all roses, this current government has been running the country like a corporation, with vested interests by party members and their affiliates, and plenty of golden handshaking going on with overseas business interests.

The more complex social and environmental aspects of maintaining a nation state have been largely ignored, and there has been little criticism from the mainstream media, who seem content to let John Key’s “Honeymoon” go on and on…while uninformed or politically apathetic citizens of this fine country just keep believing what they are told; that John is a good bloke and would never do anything to inconvenience them.
